A story of selfless love

“The great conquests of the world are achieved through the most simple, and yet true, actions; actions that are done with the heart and with the intention that they be radiated to the whole human consciousness”. Virgin Mary, 25th of November of 2013

“It has been said that the great triumphs of God take place in the small things. And that small acts, made with love and anonymously, could transform the world”.

At the Marian Center of Aurora, this stopped being a theory, and transformed into an example, since a group of sisters from the Assumption and Divine Spirit Monastery have dedicated part of their time taking care of the kingdoms: geese, cats, dogs, sheep, rabbits, and even a little turtle walk about the house and receive special care from the sisters, who with charity and love, give themselves to the lesser kingdoms, as a simple way of Sowing Love in Humanity.

Thus the story of Neema emerges, a little rabbit that got sick because of an infection that other little animals, which had entered the house, had transmitted to her. This sickness – almost lethal- took the use of Neema’s back legs, making it impossible for her to walk normally and able to carry out her basic needs. This marked a before and an after in the little rabbit’s life.

When this manifested, the sisters, taking care of the need, took her to the vet, who on seeing her condition, recommended she be put down, because of the small chance of Neema surviving such a cruel sickness.

Nevertheless, the sisters continued with their care, not only with the hope that the little rabbit should improve in health someday, but also to break down the barriers of human indifference and give their best, knowing that beyond the results, Neema will have the love and the attention she deserves, within the fate God decides for her.

When in a spirit of charity, we provide love and attention in a selfless way, a response reaches the Universe and those “small actions” resound in the Divine Consciousness, generating merits for the salvation of the kingdoms and planetary life. It is thus that, without knowing it, we balance many of the actions which, through ignorance, humanity takes day after day.

On the 15th of November of 2015, our beloved instructor Saint Joseph told us:

“If you feel you do not know how to love or you cannot do it, seek to take care of the Kingdoms of Nature, mostly the Animal Kingdom, which pours out its love upon human beings, even though it is so mistreated by them”.

Every day, Neema is cleaned and healed, because her sickness has generated sores that prevent her moving. The sisters creatively clean her wounds, while they give her something very delicious to eat, so that there are no problems. – Ingenious, right?

Furthermore, the little rabbit received a small walker to be able to move by itself and professional attention to improve its health.

Little by little, the sisters have noticed that the wounds are healing and that Neema’s fur is re-growing.

One of the sister tells us:

“We are learning to take care of her. I tell her that she is our school of renunciation and that we are hers. Because we clean everything and she dirties everything in a minute! And she does not like taking a bath very much, nor using the walker.”

In conclusion, this simple story teaches us that we don’t need to go very far to serve and to sow love that humanity needs so much. It is enough to be aware and helpful, to detect the needs of those who are around us and thus, pour out love for those who most need it. Not with a love based on expectations or results, but rather an anonymous and unconditional love, which goes beyond ourselves and offers itself to do what is necessary.

May our kind actions be the fertile soil where love sprouts, bears fruit in hearts, and expands towards the whole Universe!

We are hoping for your support in this mission of sowing love
