Youth Festival for Peace Online: music and volunteering are the tonic of this edition

The Online Youth Festival for Peace (YFP) brings, in this edition, the theme "Time to help, time to serve". In addition to the musical attractions, the highlight is the voluntary service actions led by young people from different countries. The idea is that these examples inspire the new generations to create a great chain of solidarity throughout the world.

Participate from home!

The Festival will take place on October 3, Sunday, with broadcast at two times: at 11 a.m. (first part) and 5p.m. (second part).

There are three access options:

Youth Campaign For Peace

The young people of the Youth Campaign for Peace will present two songs:

> "I Care" (Eu me importo) is dedicated to the refugees of the world. The lyrics invite young people to embrace missionary life. It was first presented at the Youth Festival for Peace in Recife in 2018, and will now be performed by the Youth Campaign for Peace Choir (Brazil and Argentina).

> "Madre María" is a song in honor of the Mother of Heaven and Earth, which asks for Her protection and guidance on the spiritual path. The authorship and interpretation of the song are of two young people: María Constanza Bibiloni and Alejandro Cavanna (Argentina).

Instituto Porto-Alegrense de Arte-Educação - IPDAE (Brazil)

João Vitor Borba, a student of the piano class taught by Professor Patrick Menuzzi, presents Prelude No. 15, one of the best-known compositions of Frédéric Chopin. This piece of music is commonly called “Raindrop Prelude" due to its emotional and introspective melody, which repeats the note A flat with the aim of imitating droplets of falling water.

Actions of service

Social project "Apenas um Filho” (Brazil)

The sportsman Valmir Silva will talk about the social project "Apenas um Filho" (Only one child), which offers jiu-jitsu classes to children and young people in situations of social vulnerability.

Akamasoa (Argentina)

Akamasoa Argentina is a solidarity movement inspired by the work of Father Pedro Opeka, creator of the "Cidade da Amizade" (City of Friendship), in Akamasoa, Madagascar.

Father Opeka has been helping the poorest for 50 years. The Akamasoa community, which turned 30 in 2019, is home to families and former homeless people in more than 4,000 brick houses. The "Cidade da Amizade" offers education for all levels of schooling, hospitals, maternity and infrastructure for 29,000 inhabitants. Thanks to the effort of Father Opeka, more than 500,000 people are no longer in extreme poverty.

Influenced by this work, Gastón Vigo Gasparotti founded Akamasoa Argentina, in Lima, Zárate, Buenos Aires province. With the support of more than 500 volunteers, the organization seeks to bring work, dignity and education to those who are in most need.

Fraternity – International Humanitarian Missions (FIHM)

The humanitarian service carried out by Humanitarian Fraternity (FIHM) will be represented in two videos. The first presents the routine of a young woman who lived a deep experience with Venezuelan immigrants in the city of Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. The second video brings the testimony of young people about what it means to serve.

Pizza da Paz (Brazil)

“Pizza da Paz” (Pizza of Peace) is a fundraising campaign carried out by young volunteers of the Youth Campaign for Peace.

In this edition, we will watch the work of the Grupo Jovem of the Region of São Carlos, São Paulo, who produced vegan pizzas for the collaborators of the project.

Service activity of the Grupo Jovem de Buenos Aires (Argentina)

The group went to a sanctuary for rescued animals called "El paraíso de los animales" (The paradise of animals). The young people make regular visits to this site, which takes care of more than 800 animals of various species.

Love for the Kingdoms of Nature

Cavalos_Mãe Amazona (Brazil)

In this edition, the young group from Recife presents the second part of the series "Mãe Amazona" (Mother Amazona), with the episode about horses. The group visited a hippotherapy center, whose work focuses on children with autism, shyness, locomotion problems and cerebral palsy.
